The project involves the demolition of two dilapidated buildings that cannot be restored. The plot is located between the old town of Tallinn, the Kalamaja residential district and industrial part of the city. There is also the Estonian Academy of Fine Arts in a short distance from the site, therefore a bar and restaurant were adopted as the function of the new buildings, which will be available to students, residents and tourists. Estonian architecture was the main inspiration for the designed buildings. The brick building of the bar refers to the industrial architecture of Tallinn, and the wooden restaurant was inspired by the architectural details of buildings in Kalamaja district. The buildings were supposed to be separate forms, but thanks to the square between them they can cooperate with each other.
